What is the difference between eSIM and a physical SIM card?

An eSIM is a virtual SIM built into your phone — install it by scanning a QR code, no delivery, no card swap and no risk of losing it. You can keep your home SIM active for calls. The downsides: some older phones lack support and migrating to a new phone requires a re-install.

Are unlimited eSIM plans really unlimited?

Not necessarily. Providers and plans may apply a fair-use policy (FUP) that throttles speed after a daily high-speed allowance; the allowance and throttled speed vary. Check the individual plan details — we show confirmed limits where available.

Why should I compare plans by cost per GB?

Cost per GB = total price ÷ data volume. It removes package-size differences and is the fairest yardstick across plans. Example: a 10GB/30-day plan at $21 (=$2.10/GB) can beat a 5GB/7-day plan at $12 (=$2.40/GB) even though its total price is higher.

Can I share my eSIM via hotspot?

It depends on the specific plan and local partner network. Some plans allow tethering, some cap daily hotspot data, and some leave the decision to the local operator. We show confirmed plan-level rules; when the provider has not disclosed the detail, we keep it as “not disclosed”.

When does an eSIM plan's validity start?

There is no universal rule: some plans start on first connection to a supported network, others on installation, activation or purchase, and some let you choose an activation date. Check the plan's installation, activation and validity notes before buying.

What should I do if I have data but no internet?

Can I get a refund after activating an eSIM?
